Hi, friends!
This website will give you an opportunity to find an archive of
my articles that appear in the HAMPTON NEWS and more. For a
long time I have wanted to put my schedule and events that I am
involved with on the web for all my students and as a way to
invite new students to try the different yoga studios. Also, I
wanted to provide a resource to others of those teachers (both
locally and globally) and traditions that have inspired me. I
mainly practice Ashtanga Yoga, but am eternally grateful for my
Sivananda training, which has broadened my knowledge of yoga
philosophy and pranayama and has given me a bhakti yoga
practice, that includes meditation, and, of course, chanting.
For I did not start out with an Ashtanga practice, nor did I
plan on teaching. I started out grief-stricken, exhausted, and
suffering from Fibromyalgia. I turned to yoga for lack of
anything else I could do. Because of this, I am grateful for
the traditions of Swami Kripalu (compassionate
yoga), T.K.V. Desikachar (Heart of yoga), B.K.S. Iyengar,
Jivamukti and the many others that have influenced my teachers.
I love teaching, and I believe that there are different
spiritual, physical, and nutritional needs and practices for
every individual based on their composition. I try to teach
with that knowledge and compassion.
OM, shanti, shanti, shantih
Namaste, (I acknowledge the Divine in you. You and I are One.)
Mary
